Excellent Pho with broth that is bursting with a wonderful flavor from beginning to end.

Truly incredible, one of Coeur d'Alene's best local treasures up with Syringa & Cafe Carambola. Idaho is often lackluster when it comes to foreign cuisine but Pho Thành is the real deal; their combination of garlic chile pastes, Sriracha, Jalapenos, assortment of fish oil, soy sauce & hoisin is a phenomenal compliment to all their pho. Their spring rolls are excellent and if you order a large bowl, you won't leave hungry. Quality food and quick service make this a must try.

In Idaho, you have something like this??? Definitely thumbs up!!!! Perfect weather! Spring Roll is highly recommeded!!!! It's so fresh!

Awesome pho! They actually serve the soup with the beef bone, I haven't been to a pho restaurant that does that. The owner was very nice. He even made a dipping sauce for the meat :) Very nice man.

Coming from a household that homemade pho was the norm, I am pretty picky on what I consider "good pho" This place is fast and the service is exactly how I like - down to the point and no fluff. Surprisingly, it's been the best pho I've had restaurant wise (well, of course nothing like they have in Vietnam) Good job Idaho on outdoing most states!

Best pho in the area. Large portions & decently priced. Atmosphere is a dive but the food is worth coming back for.

Truly the best Pho in the inland Northwest that we have found! The shrimp rolls are awesome , and that sauce to die for. Many a day my wife and I just order 8 of those , pick em up and head out! All the food are generous portions and excellent. The soups really are fantastic on a cold Idaho day. The people here are very nice but your just not gonna find em smiling a whole bunch and helping you order. They never even ask if you want a beverage which I would suggest they do to enhance profit. They do have some beer choices and wine if you desire. Not much a selection but it will do. The building its in bad shape but the food is great which is why we go to any restaurant. I love it and with a bigger tv...lol..and I bit more of an atmosphere 5 stars could happen!!

  • John O.

Just amazing! So much delicious food for your money, you can't go wrong if you stop in. The broth is fragrant and delicious. Won-Ton appetizers are amazing! Just a couple complaints... If you order a soda, it comes in a can and they charge $1.50. No refills. Total bummer. You're better off just ordering a reasonably priced beer or sticking with the free water. Oh, and the bathroom is super dirty. These people can't be bothered to scrub toilets and urinals. Other than that, mmmmm!

  • Tami C.

Spring Rolls are fabulous, great for light lunch, love the freshness. I attribute the service with a language barrier. Great food, large portions, of course I'll be back for more, and I will smile. :-)

We had low expectations, coming from the coast, but this was the best pho i've ever had. I actually tell people about it like an old man talking about his backseat shenanigans in high school. "Yeah, i remember the time i had a bowl of pho that they brought to me with the soup bone still in it! Goodtimes, goodtimes..."

  • Heather L.

We have been here three times. This time we brought our four kids ages 11, 8, 5 and 3. Really great food. Our kids loved it too. The prices and serving sizes are wonderful. The service is lacking however so be prepared for that. The server and worker stood and watched the TV near our table for most of our meal. When he brought out our to-go boxes and handed them to me he continued to make eye contact with the screen! If the service was more personal and friendly I would give them 5 stars.

  • Kimberly H.

So the food is consistently great, service is consistently indifferent (they clearly don't rely on tips here:) There is rarely anyone in this place and Ive been here at all times of the day. They either move people in and out very quickly, or most of the business is done via take-out. I have to wonder though. I called in an order just at dinner time on a Saturday night, the guy didnt even ask for my name to identify the order when we came in. When we got there he gestured to the box on the table with our order. One other person in the place. The spring rolls are always the best part. Crisp, Delightful little fresh rolls with a yummy peanut sauce that lasts the whole roll. Only 2 things. .. *Ask for extra pho sauce tubs. I never seem to have enough. And sadly, I was somewhat surprised on my last visit to take home luke warm broth even though I had specified we would be 15 to 20 minutes. I think our dinner had been sitting ready for about ten minutes before we arrived. Maybe slightly too efficient?

Five stars for the pho which I keep coming back for. My wife and I live in Montana but eat a LOT of pho and we plan our travel to make sure we can stop here during lunch or dinner when passing through. The place is grungy, the owner is not friendly at all, and the bathrooms are scary but that beef broth is insanely good with a lot of nice depth. The #12 has the holy grail of beef bones, meatballs, tripe, tendons, and sliced beef. Add a little of the chili garlic paste, hoisin and sriracha and you're in business. The spring rolls are a nice side if you have the room.

  • Cult C.

Great meal. Service is not friendly, but very efficient. I would not kiss Americans butts' either, just making money. This run down dive is one of my go to places to eat out. Consistency. For the cost of eating out, the Pho Thanh Cafe offers top notch value.

  • Steven T.

Darn it - the best Pho in the inland Northwest would have to be in CDA and I live in Spokane. This place is a bit of a dive and the service is meh - but the Pho and the Bun and everything else we had have been the most authentic to my many meals in Vietnam. Next time I have a true Pho craving and don't mind driving I know where to go. This place rocks.

I am a Vietnamese, and must say this is possibly my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in USA. The food is excellent! And Mr. Sau, the owner and chef of the restaurant, is 82 years old, is sweet like a grandpa. He sat down and talked to us for an hour about his life. Love this place!

  • Aaron R.

You need to order a pair of the fresh spring rolls-these little treats will keep you coming back for more! I love the wide selection of firey sauces for dipping and accenting the flavors of soup and noodle dishes. This family is used to Idahoans ordering food, as no one around here can successfully pronounce any of the names so stick with ordering by the numbers listed on the menu :) Very convenient. Ive been a loyal customer for a few years now,and havent had a bad time yet. The lemon grass chilli chicken with vermicelli noodles are outstanding. Any of the noodle and meat combinations are worth the price which is very cheap in my book. The servings are huge which is funny since the Vietnamese are typically small in stature... Ive tried their soups twice, the large bowl is more then enough for anyone! Im not a soup fan, but these were good eats.

  • Kristen H.

My friend and I stopped in here because of the high reviews. It's a cute family-run establishment, but the pho was no match for the places in SoCal. The food was still very much welcomed, as it's one of the few notable Asian restaurants in Coeur d'Alene.

    (2)
  • Salvador R.

Fantastic soups, excellent food and an interesting environmental. The staff isn't necessarily the friendliest but that's not to say the service isn't great. One of my favorite places in all of Coeur d'Alene.

  • Jim H.

In case you may not know, this is not fancy dining with white linens and wine goblets. This is the mind of place you go to for good food at reasonable prices. They do a great job of using spices to bring out great flavor in the food.

  • Robyn L.

Stopped here on our travels last week and the pho' was absolutely fantastic. The beef stock was nicely clarified and the actual meat was soft, tender and melt in your mouth tasty. They also have this yellowish/orange'ish hot paste on the tables.....you MUST try a little bit of it....the wonderful brightness from the lemons and lemongrass combined with the slight heat of the habanero was super tasty, we even got a small to go order of the sauce to take back to WA with us. It can be a tad challenging to get to the parking lot off the interstate, but just go up to the next road and hang a left and then another left at the light and you are there !

Got take out last night. Freaking legit, best Pho I've had. Ambiance may be lacking in the restaurant, but food presentation is beautiful.

  • Maureen D.

The best to-go food in town. The place is a little run down but worth the effort to drive there and brave the ugly decor. The food is ready when I get there. The service is impeccable and the allergy alerts are minded.

Hubby LOVES Pha but now I'm almost a fan. Good stuff. Fabulous food 'tho yes, its a dive and not on a memorable plot.

  • Wesley R.

This place could definitely be described from the looks as a dive but the food is consistently amazing!!! Very authentic Vietnamese food. The atmosphere is odd at best but in my opinion the food more than makes up for it. They have been around for quite a long time now and it is great to see they haven't changed a thing...

  • Dezray B.

I have been eating here for almost 3 years. I have never gotten a bad dish! It's always fabulous. The most delicious :-).If you have never eaten Vietnamese food before just ask your waiter to show you what to do ,You have to utilize your spice rack. Then it's straight to heaven.

  • Scott R.

The pho is pretty good, and we enjoyed it. It isn't the best I've eaten, but for North Idaho, it serves to pacify me until I travel.

  • Alex J.

Who would thought I will find delicious Pho in North idaho! I only have tried the soups (Pho) and it was delicious! Super big, I couldn't finish myself! Lol Small place, weird looking but the food is good!

  • Justin C.

The interior of the restaurant is aesthetically unpleasant. However, the food is very pleasant. Moreover, you get a whole cows worth of meat in the beef pho bowl. Don't pass them up if you are in the area.

  • Boop B.

First time here. You enter in and there's one staff member that remains seated, blankly staring at you. There is no greeting and you seat yourself. There's a server that comes out from the kitchen and hands you the menu and water. No greeting. He sits down and goes back to his phone two tables away. Great service...? We are in the middle of eating our food and he slaps the bill on our table and walks away. Aside from the building being rundown, the food is alright. It's $9 for small/$11 for large... Compared to $6 for small/$7-8 for large in Washington. But, I'm assuming Idaho doesn't have a pho restaurant every few miles from each other like Washington. Anyway, the service is beyond horrendous. I won't be back.

    (1)
  • Emily n.

Pho was too diluted with water, therefore, lack of flavor. I'm vietnamese and I had better Pho. But this was the only Pho in the area and so I guess that is why it is rated 4 star. Go to Seattle and you will get better Pho at a cheaper price. Spring roll was ok. They used the Pho beef for the meat part which is wrong. In springroll, you use pork meat. Although, the sauce was good.

I finally stopped in for lunch with a Friend. I've had some real good, authentic pho and this place was just ok. We ordered both crispy and fresh spring rolls and both were sitting on our table within less than a minute. Fast, but when were they made? We couldn't separate the fresh rolls because they were all rubbery and stuck together. Just ok. The pho was pretty bland to me, so I added about a tablespoon of sriracha. Bottom line? Well, I think it's all relative. CDA isn't known for the culinary scene, so there's not much competition where Pho is concerned. Would I return to this restaurant? Maybe, but only if I was feeling too lazy to prepare the food myself. I didn't dislike the food here... it's just that I am used to eating FAR better pho than what they're serving. The prices were reasonable, and the place wasn't dirty or smelly. Service was extremely fast, so if you're in a hurry at lunchtime, you could probably be in and out of here in less than 20 minutes if you eat fast.

    (2)
  • Nan P.

No decor and the staff is not the most welcoming but service is quick and the pho is pretty good and authentic for Idaho standards. Haven't tried anything else.

Just moved to CdA, was happy to find a Pho place. Its a bit of a dive, but clean. My family had never eaten Vietnamese so they were skeptical. At first the reception was a bit weird, we weren't sure if we were welcome. No greeting, pointed us to a table and slapped down menus. Really? Things just went up from there. My son and I each ordered #12, it was great! We ordered small and it was still too much. We also ordered 2 vermicelli bowls for 1 other adult and 3 children to share. There was more than enough food! My DiL really liked the lemongrass chili beef bowl and 2 of the kids loved the shrimp and chicken. Everyone thought their first Vietnamese experience was great. The fried wonton, 10 for 4.50 were very good. I will be back!

Is there another pho place in CDA? Because that's probably why they were named, "Best Pho in CDA" lol. If you're used to larger city pho, then this place won't compare. It's extremely over priced ($12 for pho & rice dishes!) but I do have to say that their rice dishes are large and it does taste okay. I probably could give this a higher rating but the service sucks (seems to be a trend according to other reviews). There's no warmth to the place, there will be no greeting on the way in/out and don't expect water refills (I'm pretty sure the younger server heard us asking for refills and avoided eye contact and went to the back for five minutes hoping we would forget our thirst). The nice older man from the kitchen took pity on us and helped us refill though.

They don't have tofu. I checked. Vegetarians, go elsewhere! Also, it's kind of a sketchy place. The ambiance is very cafeteria-like. Pass.

I recently switched jobs, and have found myself in a position to actually take a lunch break! Who knew such luxuries existed? Not I .. Not I... Anyway, my first order of business was to decide what foods I like best and where the best places to find these foods are located (within a reasonable proximity to my office). My #1 favorite food is Officially* Pho. (*well, this changes from week to week, but over the last few months, it has maintained a steady presence in my diet. And not by accident.) Pho Thanh is near enough that I can mainline sriracha and suck down decadent bone broth and still have time to make it back before my hour is up. I walk in frequently enough for the folks to know what I want (#5, hot tea) ALWAYS. Every time. Never fails. I take a few deep dregs of plain broth as-is, savor, and then make it rain with the fire of the gods. (Chili sauce) You don't need to be a sriracha addict like me to appreciate the offerings at Pho Thanh, you just need to love things that are awesome. If you do, you should eat here... you owe it to yourself. And to me, because I'm almost always there at lunch time. Eating alone. (bonus: They've always got CNN on, so I can catch up on my current events while I slurp! hot dog!!)

Really good broth for the pho. Rice dishes a little greasy. Service was a bit slow, but a nice surprise in Idaho.

  • Shane Z.

Great pho here! Super fast service, everything was good. I think I might eat here again for lunch! Spring rolls were good. Setup is missing cilantro but it didn't make me not like my soup. Lots of people in here, and I notice one is a regular they had his order memorized. I was surprised to find this here in Coeur D'alene.

  • Jason R.

I have eaten a lot of pho in my days... a lot. Despite being a white guy from eastern kentucky I have had a lot of exposure to this wonderful hot brothy treat. I've been to Westminster in Orange County, Argyle Street in Chicago, SE Asia and the Khounlavong house in Ashland, KY. Pho Tahn is a pretty solid joint. The broth and meats are really good. They even stick some of the meat on a bone, which makes the pho look like a man soup. Points for that. The selection is average but adequate. My only gripe is that the price is a little too high. Probably could be $1 cheaper to meet the average price for a bowl of pho. And the fresh garnishes were: on my first trip rather soft and old and the second visit didn't even arrive. These additions are half the fun of pho. So that was sort of a let down. But the pho was good enough to hold its own.

Absolutely love this place, hands down favorite well priced restaurant between here and spokane. Best southwest Asian place in town, have to check it out!

Their food is delicious. I was just in Portland, at Pho Van, a well known and well loved Vietnamese restaurant and all I could think of while eating there was how much better the food at Pho Thanh's in CDA was. The broth for their pho soups are like butter, smooth and delicious. Their homemade spicy lemongrass sauce puts them over the top. The service was great when we were there too, with a couple of very nice and helpful guys giving us recommendations. I'll never travel through CDA again without stopping here and getting a bowl of pho. Do yourself a favor and give it a try.

  • Stephanie K.

I stopped by here on a Sunday for dinner. I ordered the summer rolls and pho. Summer rolls tasted extremely fresh with lots of meat and not so much filler. The peanut sauce was very good too. The pho was okay. The broth was not as good as some of the Spokane restaurants but overall acceptable. If in the area and hungry I might return but will try something else besides pho but definitely order the summer rolls again.

  • Jennifer B.

We have tried all Pho places in Spokane and still believe this best by a long shot!!

  • Dave s.

This place is very good. The won ton soup is spectacular. As I told the stoic waiter today, better than any I've had in Chinatown,SF and Chicago. The rice with lemon grass chicken was also great. The chow mein with various veggies and proteins was good. Noodles were great, tho the beef was a bit grisly.

    (4)
  • Katie S.

Worst dinner I've ever had! We all went to bed hungry!

    (1)
  • Anthony B.

Seriously the best pho I've ever had! And in Idaho!! From Los Angeles and I KNOW pho!!

    (5)
  • George S.

Great Pho Tai and egg rolls. Food was quick to be served, the service good enough. I agree with the other reviewer who said it's more of a language barrier than a desire to be gruff or rude. Will return if in the area again.

    (4)
  • Sophia K.

The pho here is different than most pho I've had. I got the standard beef soup w/ rare beef and meatballs. I must admit the meat is plentiful! The bowl was practically all meat. The soup base could use some work, but overall, it was decent. It wasn't bad, it wasn't good. I'm used to the pho from Westminster, CA aka Little Saigon. I was surprised to see a pho place here. My friend and I were just passing by to get back to Oregon. I don't think I'd go back here. Though I liked how this place is family run.

An authentic Vietnamese restaurant that serves "hearty & delicious home style Vietnamese cuisine"...period. How often do you encounter a pretentious Asian inspired restaurant that fails to deliver? More often than not, I get disappointed when a restaurant claims something that they are not , especially if you have tasted the "real" thing. Not all Asian cuisines are made the same, the availability of ingredients and the way it was prepared can make or break the meal. Pho Thanh lives up to what they advertise, sometimes it really doesn't matter how long you've studied in Culinary school, tweaking an age old delicious recipe really doesn't work. Pho Thanh serves what they know best, and that is, delivering delicious Vietnamese cuisines right on your table to enjoy.

This is one of those places that people will drive by and wonder to themselves how a place like that stays in business. I mean, the building looks like a dive, there are never many cars in the parking lot, and even if you go in, there will probably only be one or two tables occupied by actual customers. A place like this could very well be a front for something else, but if that was the case, then how come they make such good Pho? I'm convinced that they do most of their business from take-out orders. The moment you walk in here, the guy will ask you if you know what you want, as if you have been there a bunch and you already know the menu. I think some would say it comes off a little rude, but my guess is these guys mostly deal with people who do already know what they want, because most of their customers can't get enough of the taste, and are therefor repeat regulars. This is not a place that makes you wait for anything. Even without calling ahead, from the moment you walk in the door, you can be seated, order, served, boxed, paid, and out the door in 15 minutes if that's what you want. It make this place a very valuable when you're craving authentic Pho on a 30 minute lunch break. As for some of the other reviews who knock this place for being dirty, well, I've never noticed it, and even so, a little dirt just keeps the snobs out.

  • Michael W.

The first time I went there, I didn't know what to expect. Now, I crave Pho especially on cold winter days....nothing like a bowl of noodles with all the traditional Pho fare.

    (4)
  • Kristin V.

The service is a little diffident but with chewy tendon this good, I don't need any sunshine blown up my kiester to go with it. Just that house made chili paste and a Thai coffee. Prices are beyond reasonable. I've never had anything there but pho and spring rolls and I don't care to... so far. Even the pickiest eater in my house, who is 12, loves the pho. This is her favorite restaurant!

    (4)
  • P W.

Surprisingly good Pho and the cooking tastes like it's been slow cooked to perfection. Meat falls off the bone for their beef stews.

I am absolutely furious and disgusted with this restaurant. I am a consistent Yelp reviewer and have never left negative feedback before. My husband was on business in Coeur d'Alene and was refused service at this establishment. I understand that a private property has the right to refuse service, but it is unacceptable that service would be refused based on skin color. Although racism is still prevalent throughout our country, I have never encountered an incident so blatant. I am thoroughly disappointed in the ownership and staff and I truly hope this doesn't happen to someone else.

Good pho soups. Lots of food for a fair price. Doesn't look like much from the outside, but their food makes up for it!

  • Andy A.

Pho Thanh is one of few decent Asian restaurants in CDA. The food I've had has always been pretty good, but the atmosphere and service have left something to be desired. It is dark, quiet, and the times I've been there the staff didn't seem too interested in my party.

    (3)
  • David H.

The soup they have here is really the answer on a cold winter day. Great broth and plenty of meat in the soup. Spring rolls are also very good as well as their stir fry dishes. The building it is located in is nothing special, but the food is and thats what counts. If you don't want to eat there, they do a great job of packing it to go. Including the soup, which they seperate the broth into one container and wrap lid with plastic so it will not leak, and the other ingredients are put into another container.

  • Anshul V.

Worst place for vegetarians. The server was rude and unwelcoming. He refused to serve any thing vegetarian. While there was an old man who was willing to serve vegetarian food ( perhaps owner of the restaurant but no control over the server ). We decided to order vegetarian spring rolls as they mentioned that's what they have in vegetarian food. It was stale and bad taste. We decided to pay and walk out without eating. The worst experience so far in any Vietnamese restaurant.

I had no idea what to expect from a pho place in the middle of nowhere Idaho next to a highway exit, but I'm glad I stopped in. This is some really excellent pho! It's a little different from the typical pho place and is by far one of the most real deal places you will find anywhere! Menu isn't the most veggie friendly, but I've never seen a veggie friendly pho place outside of a tourist area in Vietnam either. The first thing you notice is that the bean sprouts are lightly cooked without you having to ask for them cooked. Secondly, the chunks of beef have have real bones in them, which means the tendon is still attached to the meat! The tripe is the honeycomb kind instead of the usual book tripe at other places. And yes, similar to a other people here, it is some of the best pho out there. And that includes eating in loads of places in Orange County, San Jose, and Vietnam.

Had lunch here and it was amazing. I've been to Pho places in Socal and this is right up there. Had Egg Rolls and the Chicken Pho soup. Yum! Service was fast and quick and the place was quite busy -- always a good sign.

  • Hilda M.

This is the closest one from work! It is pretty good for a hot Vietnamese rice noodle soup. I seem to find myself here. Service is pretty speedy when you order their soup. Price is reasonable, common for Vietnamese noodle houses. I keep going here because of price of noodles.

Rude, rude, rude!!! My girlfriends and I went in for lunch....we were awkwardly approached by an elderly man who waved us in the direction of a table. We ordered drinks, specifically a sprite for a 3 year old little girl, and he brings a lemonade. When we tried to exchange/correct his mistake ....he basically told us tough $&!#! We were so shocked and awed in disbelief that had just happened....we almost walked out right then. He "tossed" our lunch on the table in front of us.....we all looked at each other silently in disbelief that we were still even sitting there. We ended up regretfully paying for the crappy service, and asked for our food togo. Upon leaving we used the restroom. UUUUGH! if the cleanliness of the bathroom reflects the kitchen cleanliness......I won't be eating my leftovers! *****Don't risk it!

All I hear is rave reviews about this place. I personally have tried it three times and each time I was unimpressed with the service and found hair in my Pho. I'll wait for my next trip to Seattle.

    (1)
  • The K.

I did not like the meat in the pho -- too much meat. No tofu available. The broth must have been loaded with fat because after the meal I felt bloated for hours. Would not go back. Spring rolls were "so so." Nothing special. Anyone who has had really fresh, delicate pho and spring rolls will not like this place. Although a Tsingtoa served ice cold with a chilled glass for 3 bucks is a beautiful thing.

Driving back to Sandpoint from CDA I was shocked to see Pho Thanh. So far all the Asian food I'd had in the area was Americanized. I don't know if it was that I was so far from LA but this was the real deal. Some of the better Pho I have ever eaten. If I'm in the area this place is always on my must have right now list.

    (4)
  • Jennifer G.

I have to agree with many of the other reviews: the food isn't very good. The service, while not at all warm or friendly, was what I'd call efficient. He took our order and brought our food but nothing more than that. They did accommodate my vegetarianism, making me some noodles with vegetables, so extra points for that. It's very odd to me that they don't offer anything for vegetarians. No tofu, no veggie pho, nothing. All in all, maybe we ordered badly but we were wishing we'd eaten somewhere else.

Best Vietnamese in the Northwest. Everything on the menu is masterfully prepared and full of flavor. The menu is not limited to Pho (beef noodle soup). Incredibly generous rice and noodle dishes are also featured. Our daughter loves the rice dishes. The Bun Thit Cha Gio (grilled pork and egg roll over rice noodles) is a favorite during summer months. We shift to Pho in the winter. Pho great for what ails you. Load it up with basil, hoisin, sliced jalapenos and their home made chili garlic sauce and it'll put any cold to rest. Regarding the "surly" staff, they are actually a wonderfully kind family. Keep in mind there is a huge cultural barrier. It's rare to see a smile on the stone-faced staff. Don't take it personally. One exception is the father who always has a smile on his face. He's usually busy in the kitchen but comes out on occasion to greet customers. Unfortunately, I don't think he speaks much English so it's difficult to communicate just how good the food is. I just return a smile and say, "Thank you. It was wonderful." I think he gets the gist of it.

I took a small group of high school students there for a meal after a tournament. Two ordered the soups, two of us ordered the rice dishes. I think the soups were ok - both kids seemed to enjoy them. The two of us that ordered the rice dishes were underwhelmed. A lot of food but the meat seemed overdone and under seasoned. We all ended up (even those with the soups) adding in sauces to our meals. The spring rolls were yummy. My biggest complaint was the pricing on Yelp - since I was taking high school kids and they were paying their own way, I wanted cheap. But the cheapest menu item that was a dinner item was a small soup for $9. We all paid between 14 and 20 for no drinks, splitting appetizers and that did not include the tip.

Staff is very friendly and fast. I don't have any complaints about the place. I am not a huge fan of this style food, but that is just me. No reason not to try the place if you like pho.

Yep, just visited CdA last weekend. Still some of the top Pho around. I actually had the super bowl, and the tripe was, by far, the most tender and tasty I have ever eaten. I also love the fact that every bowl comes with a beef hock floating in it. So tasty! Both times I went last weekend. The server was a tad surly the second time, but I think there is a bit of a language barrier, and there was a vegan cat with us. I don't think the waiter understood why someone would not want meat.

Very very good Pho! The place is a dive, but the food makes up for it. We live in Spokane, so its a half-hour drive for us to get here ... but we're going back for sure!

the place is a dive but has great food. great soups. great chicken, shrimp, beef skewers. the old man chef is better than the younger fellas.

the pho...i got the #5, beef (which is the one without the tendons and tripe)...it was really good. The atmosphere, strange. Small tv playing nightly news, large mirrored wall that was streaky from lack of cleaning. The server, very effecient and timely, but the personality and friendliness of a baked potato. Maybe I'll get take out when I get the urge for pho again?

The best to-go food in town. The place is a little run down but worth the effort to drive there and brave the ugly decor. The food is ready when I get there. The service is impeccable and the allergy alerts are minded.

This place could definitely be described from the looks as a dive but the food is consistently amazing!!! Very authentic Vietnamese food. The atmosphere is odd at best but in my opinion the food more than makes up for it. They have been around for quite a long time now and it is great to see they haven't changed a thing...

I have been eating here for almost 3 years. I have never gotten a bad dish! It's always fabulous. The most delicious :-).If you have never eaten Vietnamese food before just ask your waiter to show you what to do ,You have to utilize your spice rack. Then it's straight to heaven.

    (4)

  • Steve L.

  • Scott R.

The pho is pretty good, and we enjoyed it. It isn't the best I've eaten, but for North Idaho, it serves to pacify me until I travel.

    (4)

  • Marie D.

(bonus: They've always got CNN on, so I can catch up on my current events while I slurp! hot dog!!)

    (4)
  • Clint G.

Awesome pho! They actually serve the soup with the beef bone, I haven't been to a pho restaurant that does that. The owner was very nice. He even made a dipping sauce for the meat :) Very nice man.

  • Christine N.

    (4)

    (4)

    (5)

    (4)

  • Neil G.

    (1)
  • Hilda M.

This is the closest one from work! It is pretty good for a hot Vietnamese rice noodle soup. I seem to find myself here. Service is pretty speedy when you order their soup. Price is reasonable, common for Vietnamese noodle houses. I keep going here because of price of noodles.

  • Amie L.

  • Eric S.

    (4)

Pho Thanh is one of few decent Asian restaurants in CDA. The food I've had has always been pretty good, but the atmosphere and service have left something to be desired. It is dark, quiet, and the times I've been there the staff didn't seem too interested in my party.

Maybe I'll get take out when I get the urge for pho again?
